Sherrie A. Buscemi

Hi, y'all! Despite nearly 50 years in the Southwest, I still think with a southern accent!

I'm a wife, mom, and grandma, privileged to be retired from the official work force.

SI love the Blue Ridge Mountains, where I graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in Urban Affairs and minors in geography, political science, economics, sociology, and housing.

I applied those studies to a master's program in print journalism at Eastern New Mexico University. My career has included social service, property management, and journalism.

At every job and many churches, I've been the go-to creator for newsletters, brochures, fliers, and other print media. I'm grateful that my own creation, The Penwheel Circle, is finally coming to life! And for every reader who visits the website and blogs!

Hello! I recently decided to start writing again after a long pause.

I've been working at the same job for more than 30 years with West Virginia's Department of Health and Human Resources. I feel we help a lot of people, which makes this role very fulfilling.

On a more personal note, I am a devout Christian and enjoy being an aunt to many nephews and nieces.

My youngest sister and I live together. Fun fact: We don't own a vehicle, so we use public transportation or walk everywhere!

We recently rescued a mama cat and her young kitten Watching the new life explore is fun. Cats are one of God's many blessings in my life.

Hi! I grew up in different parts of New Mexico, often living near a Navajo Reservation, which has influenced many of my experiences.

I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in English and a minor in library science. My jobs have focused on libraries – public, college, and school.

I love the Lord, my family, and my church family, where I serve in the quilting ministry.

I am one of those annoying high energy, early (really early) morning people! Thankfully, I am very tolerant of my night owl and normal energy friends and family.

My hobbies include reading, playing with my dog Jet, growing flowers, and, of course, quilting.

Becki Kern

Greetings from Becki, residing in the southeast portion of the southwest city of Tucson! Over 40 years ago I migrated here from central California, where I was born and raised.

I am one of those annoying high energy, early (really early) morning people! Thankfully, I am very tolerant of my night owl and normal energy friends and family.

My husband, Rick, and I are a second marriage…approaching our 37th anniversary at the time of this writing. We share 4 middle-aged kids, 10 grown-up grandchildren, and 6 great grands ages 14 to 2! Yes, we know…we are super blessed!

I have been retired for almost 6 years. I served 20 years on staff at Pantano Christian Church, and 16 years in commercial construction before that.

I have enjoyed dabbling in many hobbies over the years. As fads came and went, I bought the supplies, made one or two great projects, and moved on to the next idea! Some call it “flaky”, I prefer “adventurous”!

One of my great pleasures is seeing my family and friends realize their full potential and find the special gifts they bring to this world.

When I was young, I can honestly say I did not fully appreciate my gift as an exhorter/encourager.

However, apparently the wisdom I prayed for at 16 has finally started to kick in (just a short 59 years later!) I am thankful for the way the Lord has made me, for the opportunities and blessings He gives me, and I plan to serve Him forever.
